God is love.
God’s grace is his favor. It’s when He shows us mercy instead of the punishment we deserve. Grace is what connects God’s justice and mercy, making us recipients of His unearned love.
Joseph’s Story
- He was born into a loving family.
- He was saved from death by his brothers.
- He became a trusted servant to a high-ranking Egyptian official.
- He was wrongly accused and imprisoned, but later freed and promoted.
- He became second-in-command in Egypt, saving his family and nation.
When Justice Demanded Punishment
Despite being innocent, Joseph faced situations where justice would have demanded punishment:
- He was accused of attempting to sleep with his master’s wife.
- He was imprisoned for a crime he didn’t commit.
But God’s grace rescued Joseph from death and imprisonment. Joseph forgave those who wronged him and thanked God for working everything out for his good.
David’s Story
King David also experienced God’s grace:
- He committed adultery and murder.
- Yet, God’s grace pardoned him and restored their relationship.
Conclusion
God’s justice demands punishment for our sins, but His mercy grants us forgiveness. This is God’s amazing grace!
Let’s be grateful for God’s grace, which has overlooked our deserving consequences and granted us mercy instead.
